Meet the Team
Pelin Eraktan, M.ADS, BCBA
Founder of Spectrum Way Behaviour Consulting & Clinical Director
I am Pelin Eraktan, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). I am passionate about sparking change in children and their families' lives by utilizing evidence based applied behaviour principles.
My passion for working with autism began back in 1998 when I first met a boy with autism who loved to just twirl strings, all day, every day. All the while, he had the most calming and beautiful smile while engaged in his favorite activity. The questions in my mind regarding his autism and individual development as a child inspired me to learn more about autism and explore how I could help children on the Autism Spectrum and their families live fulfilling lives and reach their highest potential. While delving into autism and autistic individuals’ learning styles, I had an opportunity to work with and observe neurotypical children and how they interacted with their peers who had different developmental and intellectual disabilities.
My journey with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) took off when I moved to Canada in 2008. I continued my studies and application of ABA principles in different capacities as an instructor therapist and senior behavior therapist before becoming a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst in 2017. I am an Ontario Autism Program(OAP) approved clinical supervisor.
Through many years of experience working with children and their families, I discovered that compassion, cultural sensitivity, and the application of evidence-based approaches form the foundation for helping each child and their family reach their highest potential and live fulfilling lives.
